Cheer Up 2
Today I'm giving you the outline of the sermon "CHEER UP" that I started Monday. Worry, fear and losing heart will rob you of a joyful life. If we do not stay focused Christ and what He's given us, and we start looking around at what’s going on in this world, we can lose the Joy that Jesus has given us. Here are some things we need to beware of.
l. "Fret Not"- "Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity." Psalm 37:1. We are not to "fret" because of evil doers. So many Christians lose focus and get into a fizzle over how well the wicked are doing. Fret will rob you of your joy.
A. Don't fret over the PROSPERITY of the wicked.
B. Don't fret over the lack of PUNISHMENT in regard to the wicked.
C. Know God's PROVISION--He will meet all your needs Ps.34:10.
D. Know God's PROMISE--He will judge the wicked Eccl. 3:17.
ll. "Faint Not"- "Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day." 2 Cor. 4:16. We are not to lose heart, get spiritually exhausted or out of wind.
A. We should not faint because of a RENEWING (inward man- 2 Cor.4:16).
B. We should not faint because of a REWARD that is down the road for the faithful Christian (2 Cor. 5:10)
lll. "Fear Not"– “Fear not, for I have redeemed you;” Isaiah 43:1. The word "redeem" has the idea of, "to repurchase what has been sold; to regain possession of a thing alienated, by repaying the value of it to the possessor." We were sold out to sin (Rom. 3:23) but thank God the Lord Jesus Christ paid the price, bought us out of the slave market of sin, and birthed us into God’s royal family. The redemption of Christ Jesus is one that does several things.
A. It is PRECIOUS. When you are redeemed, it is something you hold in high regard.
B. It is PERMANENT. It is not something that is undone the moment you commit a sin.
C. It is PARTICULAR. God will only pardon those who exert the will and believe on Christ.
Fretting , Fainting and Fearing will rob any Christian of their joy. Cheer up, Jesus has overcome the world and He has made us overcomes. Look up and Cheer up for your redemption draws nigh! God Bless!
