God Is Always There

Most of us have had dry times in our Christian lives where we've doubted our faith. It's during those times that just finding five minutes for God is just another chore. God knows there are times Christians struggle in their faith. Sometimes devotions do not really seem like devotion, but work. Sometimes Christians wonder if God is even there. There are some things you can do to keep your faith strong even when you feel a bit weak.

First thing is to always remember that God is ALWAYS there even in the driest times, even when you don't feel God's presence. Never go by feelings, they can be deceiving but believe His promise that He will NEVER forsake us. True faith is developed even when you don't feel God. Remember also that we walk and live by faith not feelings.

Deuteronomy 31:6 'Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."

The second thing you need to do is a daily devotion. Developing long-term habits is important to maintaining your faith. A daily devotional will keep you in the Word and enhance your prayer life. It will also keep you closer to God even when you struggle in your faith.

Philippians 2:12-13 "Therefore, my loved ones, just as you always obey me, not just when I am present but now even more while I am away, carry out your own salvation with fear and trembling. God is the one who enables you both to want and to actually live out his good purposes.” CEB

The third thing I would suggest is to get involved. Many people become apathetic over time, because they do not feel connected to a church body. Some churches do not offer ways to connect. Yet, there are a lot of ministries you can do on your own. God has given you a gift to serve so be creative and get busy. A good church will help you find your gift and help you get plugged in.

Romans 12:4 “We have many parts in one body, but the parts don’t all have the same function. 5 In the same way, though there are many of us, we are one body in Christ, and individually we belong to each other." CEB

The fourth thing I would suggest would be to talk to someone. If you feel separated from God or you find yourself backsliding, talk to someone. Try your pastor or a mature Christian who you respect. Talk through your issues and pray with them about your struggle. They can offer insight into how they have worked through their own struggles.

Colossians 3:16 – "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Early in my Christian life, I walked out on God, gave up and went my own way. During those dreary, dark and dry days, God was always there. He never forsook me or gave up on me. When He brought me back into the fold I vowed with His help to never let myself get in that shape again.

It is very important to remember these 4 things" 1. He is ALWAYS with you wether you feel is presence or not. 2. Daily Devotions and Bible reading, get into the Word and the Word wilt get into you. 3. Get involved in church and serving others. 4. Talk to someone you can trust if you feel yourself backsliding. Have a great day and God Bless!
