The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse
The Scriptures are clear that if you heard the gospel and refused to get saved before the tribulation, you won't have an opportunity during the tribulation
The sermon this morning is titled The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. I preached this sermon in detail last year and it took two nights to preach it. Here's a peak!
The four horsemen of the Apocalypse are described in Revelation chapter 6, verses 1-8. The four horsemen are symbolic descriptions of different events which will take place in the end times.
The first horseman of the Apocalypse is mentioned in Revelations 6:2: “And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.” Don't be fooled, this is not the Lord Jesus Christ who will also come on a white horse but His coming is at the end of the Tribulation and the antichrist is coming at the beginning. This first horseman is none other than the Antichrist himself. He's wearing a crown which speaks of the authority he's given and the bow tells us that he will conquer all who oppose him. We have to remember that the antichrist is a false imitator of the real Christ. I believe the white horse refers to his deception of people who will worship him as God.
The second horseman of the Apocalypse appears in Revelation 6:4, “And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword. “The second horseman is referring to an atrocious and disastrous warfare that will break out in the end times. Not only nation against nation but I believe this also speaks of warfare in the streets, bloodshed like you've never seen before. You can just imagine how wicked this world is going to be when the divine dam is taken to heaven at the rapture and a flood of evil comes upon this earth!
The third horseman is described in Revelation 6:5-6, “And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. 6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.’” The third horseman of the Apocalypse refers to a great worldwide famine that will take place, probably as a result of the wars from the second horseman. You can see how all this is coming together. If there is a worldwide famine, men will do whatever they have to in order to eat and provide for their families and that includes robbing and murder. The streets even in the suburbs will not be safe. So far we have wars, nations against nation and lawlessness in the streets. There is a worldwide famine where only the very rich can afford daily provisions.
The fourth horseman is mentioned in Revelation 6:8, “And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.” The fourth horseman of the Apocalypse is symbolic of death and devastation. It seems to be a combination of the first three horsemen. The fourth horseman of the Apocalypse will bring even more warfare, terrible famines along with plagues and diseases like this world has never seen before. Notice that even the animals are going to become more dangerous. I was reading a couple of weeks ago that scientist can't figure out why there have been so many shark attacks and other attacks from the animal kingdom. They're just getting warmed up. They will be fighting for food and survival just like the human race. What is so amazing to me and terrifying if you're not a Christian, is that the four horsemen of the Apocalypse are just forerunners of even worse judgments that come later in the tribulation. After the four horsemen are finished, one-fourth of the world have died. You must remember that the Tribulation is God pouring out His wrath on an unbelieving world who has said NO to His Love, Mercy, Grace and Salvation, a world who has rejected Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
If you're not saved, you are going to go through the tribulation if it happens in your life time you might be saying, Oh, I will know what's happening and I will get saved at that time. Sorry but the Scriptures are clear that if you heard the gospel and refused to get saved before the tribulation, you won't have an opportunity during the tribulation. 2 Thessalonians 2:8-11 says "And then shall that wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the Spirit of His mouth and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming Even him whose coming is after the working of Satan, with all power, and signs, and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish, because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. For this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie, that they all might be damned who believed not the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. “God will send a deception so strong that no one who refused His grace before the tribulation will be saved during the tribulation. Yes, people will get saved during the tribulation. Some believe that it will only be Jews but I believe that there will be some who have never heard and understood a clear presentation of the gospel will have that opportunity. If you're not saved, stop gambling on life and except Jesus today before it's too late. God Bless!!
