Old School Is Still Relevant School

Once I was discussing different Christian music styles with an individual and I mentioned that I still enjoy listening to one of my favorite Christian Rock bands, Petra. The first words out of his mouth was, “That's old school!” That's a common statement now when describing something that's ten years or older and dated. The group Petra started in the 70’s and put out music until the mid-2000’s.

The same thought can be applied to some churches today. These progressive churches want to be liked, popular and “think” the original message of Jesus is old school. They try to change the message by telling you not to feel guilty because God loves you and everyone is good.

In the bible it tells us in Hebrews 13:8 that, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” In other words, men may try their best to change the message from the bible to fit into their own agenda instead of God’s agenda. Fortunately, the original message in the bible about Jesus Christ hasn't changed and old school is still relevant school.
