I Need To Hear From You

By: Chance Densmore

At times do you feel that you are struggling with a problem or crisis and you want God to tell you something, anything? Your mind screams out in frustration and you think, “I need to hear from you, just a small voice to get me through!”

So that we may understand what God has freely given us
— 1 Corinthians 2:12
I need to hear from you

People will think at times that God has never said anything to them because they are waiting to hear an actual voice. We’ve been told many times that God does communicate with us and you wonder how anyone could hear this mysterious voice because it doesn't come in loud and clear over your car stereo speakers when you’re driving.

But when talking about hearing God speak its actually different than what many people perceive as someone talking to you.

In the bible, the book of Timothy explains how God talks to you and I when it says in verses 3:16-17 that, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

We hear God speak to us when we read His word in the scriptures. In addition to reading the scriptures and meditating we have the Holy Spirit that is in us and can be that still small voice. When you take time out to pray and meditate that still small voice of the Holy Spirit can come to you.

In our busy schedules it is hard at times to just sit there and wait due to distractions. That is difficult for anyone. For example, how many times do you check your cell phone each day for that update in Facebook? In John 14:26 is says, “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

It's not just a message but a thought.
